Pond Trail Monitoring

Do you enjoy walking and exploring Brewster’s wonderful trails?

The BPC is excited to announce our newest volunteer program to help monitor four of Brewster’s pond trails: Eagle Point on Upper Mill Pond, Seymour Pond, Sheep Pond Woodlands, and Bakers Pond.  We are working in support of the Brewster Natural Resources Department (DNR) as the “eyes and ears” on these trails to observe and report problem areas so the DNR staff can promptly respond and correct them.  By doing this, you will be helping protect the ponds from possible damage from storm runoff, trash dumping, and other problems that may also affect safety and enjoyment on these beautiful trails

Volunteering is easy and requires no heavy physical effort  - only enjoying a nice walk on any days when you are available.  It’s totally flexible! All you need to do is note anything that needs to be addressed, such as areas of erosion, fallen trees, missing signs, etc. and email any observations and photos to trails@brewsterponds.org.

For those who want to do a bit more, please bring along a bag to pick up any lightweight trash that others may have left behind.

We welcome everyone to get involved! So, if you enjoy walking and want to help keep our pond trails protected this is a great way to help.
