On Friday July 16, a Cyanobacteria Advisory has been posted by the Seymour Pond neighborhood associations at prominent landings due to elevated levels of cyanobacteria in the water. The blooms were sighted by neighbors, samples were taken, and laboratory results verified the high levels. At this time the water is unsafe for children and pets. Adults should use caution and avoid water contact if they see a visible algal bloom or mat. Until further notice:
Additional testing at Seymour Pond is scheduled over the next two weeks. The BPC will report back when the pond is to be reopened. Call your doctor or veterinarian if you or your animals have a sudden or unexplained sickness or signs of poisoning.
